Focus On Umbrellas

From the famous Hollywood scene in which Gene Kelly sings in the rain and dances through the city streets with an umbrella, to the hot summer beaches where umbrellas are used as protection against the sun, umbrellas are always in fashion and most importantly, always needed.

Found in a wide variety of parasols, sun umbrellas, beach umbrellas, patio umbrellas, pool umbrellas, and sun umbrellas, and garden umbrella online produced in a variety of sizes and color schemes, umbrellas have been the center of attention for centuries and a fixture that once even signified social class, royalty, and power.

The umbrella was primarily used as a sunshade, usually worn by ladies to protect their fair skin tones from the sun’s harmful rays. But the umbrella was not a Western invention. From ancient representations of Egyptian, Indian and Chinese kings and emperors, umbrellas have appeared above royal heads as a symbol of power and importance.

The prestige and symbolic importance of the umbrella is well documented in various cultures, and ancient scriptures mention its role in conveying a person’s meaning to the rest of the world. This simple, unique device was later used for ecclesiastical purposes as well,

and in many Roman churches the large umbrella still hangs today as a symbol of the power given to church leaders to rule over the Christian faithful. In these southern climates, umbrellas have evolved over the centuries into an essential tool for protection from the sun, and their use was highly desirable for women, while for men it was considered a sign of femininity.
